LOCKIT is a storage facility at Gdańska 14C in Szczecin. You rent a lockable unit for a month or several, bring your things in yourself at any hour, and collect them when the work is done.

What you gain by clearing the flat

  • The builders work faster — an empty room means a shorter job, and a shorter job means a smaller labour bill.
  • Your furniture survives — construction dust, damp from fresh screed and accidental knocks cost more than a month of rent.
  • You do not impose on friends — no borrowed garage, no awkward conversation about when you will collect.
  • Moves rarely line up — handing over one flat and receiving the next on the same day is the exception. A unit covers the gap.

How to prepare furniture for storage

  1. Take apart whatever comes apart. A dismantled bed, a table without legs and a flat-pack wardrobe can take up half the space. Bag the screws, label the bag and tape it to the piece.
  2. Pack small items in boxes of one size. Uniform boxes stack to the ceiling; assorted ones waste a third of the unit.
  3. Label boxes on the side, not the top. Once they are stacked, the side is all you can see.
  4. Protect fronts and glass with bubble wrap or an old blanket. Furniture panels scratch each other.
  5. Heavy at the bottom, light on top. Appliances always on the floor, never on furniture.
  6. Leave a walkway along one wall. Otherwise, two weeks in, you will not reach the one thing you suddenly need.

How long, and on what terms

The minimum rental period is one month. If the renovation overruns by three weeks, the contract renews automatically and you do nothing. If it finishes early, you cancel 7 days before the end of the billing period and do not pay for the next one.

There is no deposit. Monitoring, security and access control are included. Insurance of stored items is mandatory and billed separately — you choose the cover level when you rent, and cover starts from PLN 12 net/month.

Round-the-clock access matters here more than anywhere else: moves rarely finish before six in the evening. You can bring things in batches, at night and at weekends, with no appointment.
